Do I need a DC blocker?
Sometimes it is necessary to block the DC component in a RF signal. There are two main reasons to do so. The first one is to protect equipment or components that can’t handle DC signals without damaging them. The second reason is to improve measurement accuracy.
How do you connect a DC blocker?
Using the DC Block is simple – plug its output into the IEC power socket of an audio/AV component, then connect its input to a mains socket (both cables are provided).
When using a DC block where should you install it?
Capacitors “in general” should be placed as close as possible to either driver or receiver, hopefully much closer than ½ of a bit time of the signaling rate. This reduces the size of the blips and minimize the degradation of the eye.
